The library has closed shelves: users must present themselves at the counter to request and register the consultation of the volumes, the collection and distribution of which coincides with library opening hours. At the end of the consultation, which must be completed by 7.15pm, the volumes must be returned to the distribution counter.

Upon delivery of a valid identity document, it is possible to request a daily loan of documents for consultation only, with the exception of ancient or valuable bibliographic material and for all the cases provided for by the art. 8.2 of Library regulations.

Documents on daily loan must be returned by 7.15pm on the same day they are collected by the user.

Please note that the bibliographic heritage of the library can be reproduced, exclusively for personal use for study purposes, within the limits permitted by the physical conditions of the material and according to the limits established by current legislation. copyright legislation (law 633/1941 and subsequent amendments and additions). In particular, paragraphs 3 and 5 of thearticle 68 of law 633/1941 allow, in 15% limits of each volume or issue of a periodical, excluding advertising pages, the reproduction for personal use of intellectual works.

Institutional users can also extend loans from home, for just one time, by accessing their own personal space (with the United credentials) of Catalog.   Alternatively, the extension can be requested directly from the Library.

It should be noted that in addition to the documents normally excluded from the loan (art. 8.2 of Library regulations) - periodicals; degree and doctoral theses; electronic and multimedia resources; microfilm and microfiche; ancient, rare or valuable material; general reference works (such as, for example, dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, cartography...); texts in poor condition - due to the type of rare and valuable bibliographic material owned by the library, all works prior to 1940 are excluded from lending as well as documents that require specific attention for their conservation.

For any real-time update on the presence and performance of bibliographic material, the availability indicated on the website is valid Catalog during the document search phase.

The interlibrary loan service is active on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays both for our users who need documents not present in the Turin area and for libraries who request our material for their users. Below are indicated the different request methods depending on whether they are users or libraries. If requests are sent on days other than those indicated, they will be responded to via e-mail communicating the days on which such requests will be processed.

In the reading room of the library there are five terminals configured with a virtual operating system, three of which are accessible only by entering the Unito credentials, and the remaining two are open access, but limit their navigability to the Unito pages and the various catalogs useful for bibliographic searches.

The library is connected to the service WiFi of the University of Turin.

A service is active photoreproduction through a photocopier which in scanner mode sends scans (even multipage) of the documents directly to the institutional email addresses of the library users.
