Public Domain

Works with lapsed patrimonial rights, as more than 70 calendar years have passed since the author's death, can be freely used.

On January 1st of each year, therefore, a part of the cultural heritage becomes freely available to anyone: works in the Public Domain can be printed, copied, performed in public, staged, translated, reproduced on any medium, digitized and more, without the obligation of compensation or prior authorization.

The Humanities Libraries promote knowledge through participation in events such as Public Domain Festival, The Bibliotour, the Night of Researchers And TorinoCheLegge and make works in the Public Domain available via the platform Opal and the project Internet Archive.

They also participate in University Digital Library and other digitalization projects such as The University of Turin in the Great War
